What a wonderful time we had this Sunday with God pouring out His Spirit on us. We looked at the temple of God being the people in the church. Throughout the sermon we talked about how the church body as a group and as individuals.
The we are the dwelling place of God. If we will be the dwelling place of God, then God must be present, and He was ever so present yesterday. We were challenged to allow God to be present 24/7 and not just at church. If God is present in our church, then guests will know it when they visit.
God must be host if we will be His dwelling place. We so often act like God is the guest and He is welcome in parts of our life. God wants to be host so that He is our life, that every thing we do is what He would love.
Then for us to be His dwelling place we could see that God must be comfortable in our lives. WE do that by living the way He desires and we learn that from the Bible.
Secondly we learned about the church is built with people. God has been building the church with humans for thousands of years. At the same time Jesus Christ is the corner stone. So as God uses people to grow His church, and each day we have to do church differently to reach new people, everything has to go through the foundation.
Lastly we looked at the church is a Holy Temple. We must be Holy because God is Holy. We looked at some scripture to prove to us that we do not have to live in sin.
1 John 2:1 (NIV) My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Romans 6:1-2 (NIV) What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
We came to the conclusion we can live and not sin. we can live and sin. It is a choice and with the power of God we can chose to not sin. God is more powerful then sin.
Most excitedly we had two people give their hearts to Christ. Praise His name!
